He passed his MBBS (2004)& DLO (2009) from Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh. He then went on to complete his DNB (ENT) from the prestigious KKR ENT Hospital & Research Institute, Chennai
Dr Kaustabh Kalita worked as a consultant ENT surgeon at KKR ENT Hospital & its branches in Chennai till 2018, after which he returned to Guwahati (Assam). He is now working as senior consultant- ENT and Head & Neck surgery at Apollo Excelcare Hospital , Boragaon, Guwahati.

He is also the current Vice President of AOI (Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of India) – Guwahati chapter. Life member of NEBAOI (North East Branch of AOI).
