Snoring and Sleep Apnea

Misunderstood by many to be a common and harmless entity, it is actually a very dangerous condition if left untreated. Snoring occurs when there is obstruction of the airway due to soft tissues in the throat and this also causes low oxygen supply to brain which can eventually lead to fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes not controlled with medications, daytime sleepiness, headaches, stroke or even cardiac arrest.

If you or your family members suffer from snoring and sleep apnea, please consult your ENT specialist for proper treatment at the earliest. Your doctor would advise for a Sleep study and then a sleep endoscopy for further management.
